Abstract

Arya Samaj is a branch of Hinduism founded in 1875 by Dayanand Satyarth Prakash Saraswati. This organization gained a lot of fame in Lahore, Calcutta and Mumbai at the beginning of the 20th century. This organization strongly opposed some customs and beliefs in Hinduism. The founder of this organization raised the slogan of reformation in Hinduism, but when people started gathering around him, Dayanand started rejecting other religions and especially Islam. So, Dayananda wrote a book and made 159 objections regarding Islam in it. After that, Pandit Lekh Ram, Lajpat Rai, Bau Chchu Singh and other members of this movement also wrote many books and articles against Islam and Muslim scholars. Due to this Arya Samaj movement, the concept of intensity in Hinduism also arose, which after some time provided a strong foundation for Shuddhi and Hindutva. While among the Muslim theologians Qasim Nanotwi, Sanaullah Amritsari, Ghazi Mahmood Daharampal answered all the objections and propaganda of the Arya Samaj in a vigorous manner.
