An analysis of modern online business models from an Islamic perspective demonstrates that Shariah does not oppose contemporary methods of trade; rather, it requires that they adhere to the principles of justice, trustworthiness, transparency, and lawful means of earning. Modern online business models are considered permissible in Islam as long as they are free from riba (interest), gharar (excessive uncertainty), qimar (gambling), and deception. Business models such as dropshipping and freelancing may be deemed permissible subject to certain conditions. In e-commerce, interest-free payment systems, the provision of accurate information, and the protection of consumers' rights are essential requirements. Overall, the Islamic perspective does not reject modern online business models; instead, it encourages their regulation in accordance with ethical and Shariah principles to establish a fair, transparent, and responsible economic system. Islam regards trade as an act of worship when it is conducted with honesty, integrity, and a spirit of serving humanity. Therefore, the success of modern online business models depends not only on technological advancement but also on the implementation of Islamic teachings, where business is viewed not merely as a means of profit but as a manifestation of piety, trustworthiness, and justice.
